What to Expect
Dive into the fascinating world of 3D printing with your child in this engaging two-hour after-school session. Young makers aged 10 to 15 will have the chance to imagine and create their own unique designs using open-source CAD software like Tinkercad. This workshop is perfect for beginners, requiring no prior experience, just a spark of imagination.
Participants will be guided by experienced facilitators who will help them navigate the tools and technology involved in digital fabrication. The environment is welcoming and collaborative, encouraging children to share ideas and build confidence in their creative skills.

Activity Details
During the session, children will learn how to use makerspace tools and equipment, including 3D printers and scanners. High-powered laptops and iPads will be provided to support their design work. Each child will have up to one hour of 3D printing time, with their creations produced after the workshop.
The workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 children to ensure personalized attention and a quality learning experience. Accompanying adults are welcome to stay in the makerspace or the library during the session.
After the workshop, participants will be notified by email when their 3D prints are ready for collection, which can be picked up within 14 days from the Level 1 Customer Service Desk.
Location and Access
This event takes place at Darling Square Library, located at Levels 1 and 2, The Exchange, 1 Little Pier Street, Haymarket NSW 2000. The workshop is held in the Makerspace on level 1, a dedicated area equipped with the latest technology for creative projects.
The library is easily accessible by public transport and offers a comfortable environment for both children and adults. Parking and accessibility details can be found on the library’s website.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 10 to 15 years. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay and participate or observe. Bookings are essential due to limited class size.
