What to Expect
During the school holidays, immerse your family in a meaningful cultural experience at the Shrine of Remembrance. Discover 'Sparks in the Dark', a captivating exhibition showcasing intricate embroidery crafted by women in Afghanistan. This unique display offers a heartfelt glimpse into their stories and resilience.
Children will then engage in a hands-on weaving activity inspired by the exhibition. Using popsticks and colourful threads, they can create their own Patchwork of Hope, write personal messages of hope, and reflect on their inner strengths. This creative process provides a wonderful opportunity for self-expression and connection.
The event is designed to be both educational and inspiring, allowing children to take home a meaningful keepsake that celebrates hope and resilience.
