What to Expect
Get ready for a thrilling introduction to ice hockey tailored for children aged 7 to 12. The program is perfect for young beginners and offers a chance to try a new sport with no prior experience required. It’s a drop-and-run session, making it convenient for busy parents.

Activity Details
This event is split into two sessions based on age groups to tailor the experience appropriately:
- Session 1: 10:00 - 11:00 for ages 7, 8, and 9
- Session 2: 11:30 - 12:30 for ages 10, 11, and 12
The minimum participant age is 7 years old. No ice skating skills are needed, and all equipment and guidance will be provided.
Parents or guardians must remain on site during the session, and registration is essential due to limited spaces. The event is free for City of Ryde residents, with a $5 fee for non-residents.
Location and Access
The sessions take place at the Viking Performance Lab located at 369 Lane Cove Road, Macquarie Park, NSW 2113.
Parking is available with the gate code 4229# for easy access. The venue is accessible with varied floor surfaces and accessible toilets, welcoming all participants.
This location is well-suited for children and offers a safe, supportive environment for learning new skills.
Important Information
Registrations are mandatory, and parents must provide any relevant medical or participation information to ensure appropriate care and support.
Participants may be photographed for promotional purposes by the City of Ryde. Parents should be aware that failure to attend booked sessions without cancellation may affect future bookings.
Walk-ins are accepted if space permits, but booking ahead is strongly recommended to secure a spot.
The venue and program are designed to be inclusive and accessible, with additional support available upon request.
Booking and Prices
Bookings are made via the Bookable platform on a first-come, first-served basis. Cancellation through Bookable is required if unable to attend to free up spaces for others.
The program is free for City of Ryde residents. Non-residents are charged a $5 fee.
Please have tickets ready for scanning on arrival. Multiple no-shows may result in booking restrictions or fees.
