What to Expect
Gather around perfectly sized children's tables and enjoy learning the basic skills of table tennis in a fun, relaxed environment. Whether your child is new to the game or has some experience, these sessions offer a great opportunity to play and socialize with friends or family.
These free play open sessions encourage active participation and are designed to be inclusive for all skill levels. Children will have the chance to develop hand-eye coordination, improve their reflexes, and enjoy physical activity in a supportive setting.

Activity Details
The sessions are tailored for children aged 5 to 12 years, with two free play time slots available on the day:
- Session 1: 10:00 - 11:00
- Session 2: 11:00 - 12:00
These sessions are free for City of Ryde residents, with a $5 fee for non-residents. Registration is essential as spaces are limited and bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parents or guardians must remain on site during the sessions to ensure safety and support. The program is designed to accommodate all children, including those using mobility aids or wheelchairs.
Location and Access
The event takes place at Lachlan's Line Auditorium, Jarvis Circuit, North Ryde, NSW 2113. The venue is accessible via paved pathways and is suitable for participants using mobility aids.
Table tennis can be played standing or seated in a wheelchair, making this an inclusive activity for children with varying physical abilities.
The auditorium provides a safe, indoor environment ideal for active play regardless of weather conditions.
Important Information
Registrations are mandatory to participate, and additional waivers may be required. Parents or guardians are responsible for communicating any medical, physical, intellectual, social, or emotional conditions affecting their child's participation.
A responsible adult must be present on site throughout the session. By attending, participants may be photographed for City of Ryde promotional use.
Spaces are limited, so timely booking and cancellation are essential to maintain access and fairness for all families.
Booking and Prices
Bookings must be made via the Bookable platform, with a first-in, best-dressed policy. If unable to attend, cancellations should be made promptly to free spots for others.
The program is free for City of Ryde residents. Non-residents are charged a $5 fee.
Walk-ins may be accepted on the day if space permits, but prior booking is strongly recommended to secure a place.
