Unleash your child's inner comedian with our exciting After School Improv Classes! Designed for teens aged 12-17, these classes offer a playful and supportive environment to explore the world of improvisation.

What to Expect

These dynamic classes are led by experienced improv instructors who guide students through engaging exercises and games. Participants will learn the basics of improv, including 'yes and', making and accepting offers, yielding, extending, and advancing, listening, and reacting. They'll also develop essential skills in spontaneity, quick thinking, risk-taking, and ensemble work.

Each session is filled with laughter and creativity, encouraging students to embrace their silly side and have fun while learning. The program focuses on building confidence and fostering a sense of community among like-minded peers.

Students will have the opportunity to put their newfound skills into practice through performance games and scene work, gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Activity Details

The After School Improv Classes run for 8-week blocks throughout the school year, excluding school holidays. Classes are held on Mondays from 4pm to 6pm. Two classes are available to cater to different age groups: Year 7-9 (ages 12-14) and Year 10-12 (ages 15-17). All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to those with some performance experience.

The curriculum is aligned with the NSW Drama syllabus for stages 3-5 and HSC, making it a valuable complement to classroom learning.

The program covers key concepts such as 'yes and', making and accepting offers, yielding, extending, and advancing, listening, and reacting. These skills are not only beneficial for performance but also translate to improved communication and collaboration in everyday life.
