What to Expect
Experience a meaningful community event that commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces. The Anzac Day March offers a chance to show support and respect alongside fellow residents and veterans. Following the march, the service at Axford Park provides a solemn and reflective moment for all ages.
This event is family-friendly and welcomes everyone to participate, whether marching or attending the service. After the ceremony, enjoy a warm sausage sizzle hosted by the Mt Hawthorn RSL, with donations supporting veterans and their families.
Activity Details
The March will begin promptly at 10:50 on the corner of Flinders and Scarborough Beach Road, proceeding down Scarborough Beach Road to Axford Park at the corner of Oxford Street. The Service will commence at 11:00 at Axford Park.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot for the march or service. The event is free to attend and open to all ages, making it a perfect occasion for families to teach children about the importance of remembrance.
Location and Access
The event takes place at Axford Park, Mt Hawthorn, with the march starting nearby at Flinders and Scarborough Beach Road. Parking is limited around Axford Park, so attendees are encouraged to walk or ride to the event. Minimal parking is available on surrounding streets.
Please note there will be road closures on Scarborough Beach Road between Edinboro and Flinders Street, and on Oxford Street between Scarborough Beach Road and ANZAC Road from 10:00 to 12:00. Plan your travel accordingly to avoid delays.
Important Information
This event honours all past and present members of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces, their families, and the volunteers who support veterans. The City of Vincent acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.
The artwork for this year’s event features a historic photograph from the City’s Library and Local History Centre, showing soldiers in uniform at Lark Hill, England, in July 1917.
Attendees are reminded to respect the solemn nature of the service and to support the RSL veterans through donations at the sausage sizzle, which accepts cash and EFTPOS.
Booking and Prices
This is a free community event with no bookings required. Everyone is welcome to participate in the march and attend the service. Donations for the Mt Hawthorn RSL sausage sizzle are voluntary and support veterans and their families.
