What to Expect
Start your day with a unique VIP ranger-led tour through the iconic Australian Bush at Melbourne Zoo. This intimate experience offers a rare chance to meet kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and native bird species before the zoo opens to the public.
Enjoy close encounters with ambassador animals like Karri and Waru the koalas as they wake up, and get behind-the-scenes access to the kangaroo exhibit. You might also meet charming wallabies and explore the nocturnal world of wombats in their cozy burrows.
The adventure concludes in the Great Flight Aviary, where you can listen to the melodies of native birds like rainbow lorikeets, bower birds, and kookaburras. Each visit is unique, with animals choosing how they participate.
Activity Details
This 45-minute experience starts promptly at 8:00 AM with a meet time of 7:55 AM at Melbourne Zoo's main entrance on Elliot Avenue. The group size is limited to a maximum of 10 people to ensure a personalized encounter.
The experience is suitable for children aged 5 years and older, with adult supervision required for participants aged 5-12 (1 adult per 3 children, 2 adults per 4 children). Enclosed shoes are mandatory, and the activity is wheelchair friendly.
Each participant, including adults and children, must have their own paid ticket. Zoo entry is not included and must be purchased separately for the same date.
