What to Expect

Experience the joy of making music with the Australian Youth Band, where young musicians come together to play woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. This is a fantastic opportunity for school-aged children to develop their musical skills, meet new friends, and enjoy the thrill of performing in a band.

Whether your child is a beginner or more experienced, the band offers sessions tailored to different skill levels, including a Senior Band, Junior Band, and Drumline. The welcoming environment encourages confidence and creativity in every rehearsal.

Activity Details

Rehearsals take place on Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 at Parkhill Primary School, 4A Parkhill Drive, Ashwood. The schedule is:

- Senior Band (AYB): 09:00 - 12:00

- Junior Band (JAYB): 12:00 - 13:00

- Drumline: 12:30 - 14:00

Please note there will be no rehearsal on 12 July 2025. The sessions run regularly from late March through early December, providing consistent opportunities for musical growth.

All sessions are free of charge, making this an accessible and valuable activity for families.

The rehearsals are held at Parkhill Primary School, located at 4A Parkhill Drive, Ashwood, 3147. The venue is easily accessible by car and public transport, with parking available nearby.

Ashwood is a family-friendly suburb with safe surroundings, making it convenient for parents to drop off and pick up their children.
