Babies Love Books is a delightful weekly session designed to nurture a love of books and early literacy skills for babies aged 0-12 months. Parents and their little ones can enjoy a warm and welcoming environment filled with rhymes, songs, and stories that engage the youngest readers.
Each session promises a gentle and fun introduction to language and books, perfect for bonding and stimulating your baby's development. The program is thoughtfully paced to suit the needs of babies and their caregivers.
The sessions run every Thursday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, excluding school holidays and public holidays. The program is free but requires booking for each session, with places strictly limited to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
Please note the event will not run on specific dates including 9 April, 16 April, 9 July, 16 July, 27 August (Book Week special), 1 October, 8 October, 17 December, 24 December, and 31 December. Bookings open one week in advance and latecomers cannot be admitted.
The sessions take place at Lionel Bowen Library, located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. The venue is committed to accessibility and inclusivity, welcoming families with any access requirements to reach out for support.
Due to limited space, prams are kindly requested to be left at home. The library encourages early arrival, about 10 minutes before the start time, to ensure the session runs smoothly.
Bookings are essential and must be made for each child attending. Only children with valid tickets and their siblings can participate, and all children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
The event is for library members, with free membership available online or at any branch. If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking promptly to allow others to join.
Please be aware that sessions may be digitally recorded for promotional purposes. Notify staff if you do not wish your or your child's image to be used.
This event is free of charge. Bookings are made through Eventbrite, with a limit of one session per child per week across library branches. Spaces fill quickly, so early booking is recommended.
