Enjoy a lively afternoon filled with dog-themed arts and crafts workshops perfect for kids and pet lovers alike. Live music will set a joyful atmosphere while pet photobooths capture memorable moments with your furry friends. Scouts activities and sustainable transport information add variety and community spirit to the day.
Experience pedal-powered smoothie making, a fun and eco-friendly way to refresh yourself. Food trucks will be available offering tasty treats to keep everyone energized. The event concludes with a free movie screening of "Think Like a Dog," a heartwarming PG-rated film about a young tech genius and his dog.
The main event runs from 12:00 to 15:30 featuring workshops and activities suitable for families and children. From 15:30 to 17:00, enjoy the outdoor movie screening. Please note the film will be screened with captions, but there are no captions for the earlier activities, and apologies are extended for any inconvenience.
This event is designed to be inclusive and accessible, with accessible toilets onsite and limited accessible parking nearby. Leashed dogs are welcome, making it a perfect outing for dog lovers and families.
Beale Family Day takes place at Anthony Beale Reserve, next to St Katherine’s Church on St Helena Road, St Helena 3088. The venue is an open space accessible by foot via Nurla Place or St Helena Road.
Public transport options include bus stops at Greensborough Plaza/Main St, just a 1-minute walk away, served by routes 514, 517, 566, and 901. Greensborough Station is a short 5-minute walk from the venue, providing convenient train services.
Limited parking is available near the sports ovals, with accessible parking and drop-off via the gravel church driveway off St Helena Road.
This is a free community event welcoming families, kids, dog lovers, cyclists, and local residents. Leashed dogs are encouraged to join the fun. The event organizers have prepared a social story to help attendees understand what to expect, ensuring accessibility for all.
Please be mindful that the movie screening is outdoors and will run from mid-afternoon to early evening, so dress accordingly. The film is rated PG and suitable for children.
There is no cost to attend Beale Family Day. No prior booking is required, making it easy for families to drop in and enjoy the activities at their leisure. Food and drinks are available for purchase from onsite food trucks.
