Kickstart your barista journey with this engaging Beginner Barista Workshop designed especially for young people aged 14 to 24. This hands-on session offers a supportive environment to learn the essentials of espresso making, milk texturing, and customer service.
Participants will gain practical skills and have the exciting opportunity to apply what they've learned by serving coffee at the Volunteer Expo shortly after the workshop. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence and be part of a vibrant community event.
All materials and snacks are provided, and the workshop is partially subsidised to make it accessible for everyone.
This workshop runs on Monday, 13 April 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00. It is tailored for young people between 14 and 24 years old who are eager to develop barista skills.
The session includes:
- Espresso making techniques
- Milk texturing practice
- Customer service training
Participants can opt in to gain real-world experience by serving coffee at the Volunteer Expo on Thursday, 16 April 2026, at Gordon Library.
Registration is required for both the workshop and the Volunteer Expo.
The workshop takes place at the Gordon Youth Hub, located at 799 Pacific Highway, Gordon, NSW 2072.
The venue is easily accessible and provides a welcoming space for young people to learn and connect.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for attendees.
Ku-ring-gai Council may photograph or film the event for promotional use. If you do not consent, please notify the organisers before the event.
The workshop is 50% subsidised by Ku-ring-gai Council as part of their commitment to supporting young people.
All necessary materials and snacks will be provided during the session.
The cost to attend the workshop is $10.
Registration is essential to secure a place and to participate in the Volunteer Expo.
