Activity Details
The event begins at 19:00 with arrival and welcome, followed by telescope viewing and eclipse explanations starting at 19:35. The partial lunar eclipse commences at 19:50, with the total lunar eclipse (Blood Moon) beginning at 21:04 and reaching its maximum at 21:33.
The total eclipse concludes at 22:02, with continued viewing, lunar feature discussions, and Q&A until 22:30. The entire lunar eclipse event ends at 23:17, offering plenty of time to immerse yourself in this celestial spectacle.
Entry is by gold coin donation, making this a relaxed, accessible community event for everyone eager to learn and marvel at the night sky.
Location and Access
The event is held at Syd Duncan Park, 19 Outlook Avenue, Lower Beechmont, 4211. Free local parking is available near the park, and public toilet facilities are conveniently located adjacent to the park at the Community Centre.
