Dive into a delightful workshop where your child will learn the art of making fresh boba (tapioca balls) from scratch using natural ingredients. Led by Japanese artist and food creator Nami Osaki, this session combines creativity with healthy food fun. Children will craft blue lemonade tea from blue butterfly pea flowers, a vibrant and natural ingredient.
This workshop is designed exclusively for children aged 6-11, offering a hands-on experience that encourages independence and learning. Parents and carers can relax nearby or observe quietly, making it a stress-free outing.
Expect a lively, educational environment where kids can explore new tastes and textures while engaging in a unique cultural and culinary activity.
Participants will use ingredients such as lemon, sugar, tapioca flour, lemon cordial, blue butterfly flower, and water to create their bubble tea. It’s important to ensure children have no allergies to these items before attending.
All children must bring a tea towel, a drinking glass (a 500ml jar with a lid is ideal), and a straw to the workshop. This ensures everyone is prepared for the hands-on nature of the activity.
The workshop runs from 13:30 to 15:00 on Friday, 2nd October 2026, providing a perfect afternoon activity during the school term.
The workshop takes place in Meeting Room 1 at the Bassendean Memorial Library, located at 46 Old Perth Road, Bassendean. The library offers a welcoming and accessible environment for families.
Parents and carers are welcome to stay in the library or watch quietly from the back of the room while their children participate independently.
The venue is easy to reach and provides a comfortable setting for both children and adults.
This is a child-only workshop; adults do not need to book a ticket but must ensure their child is registered. The cost is $5.00 per child.
Please notify the organizers if you are unable to attend so your child’s spot can be offered to someone on the waitlist.

Tickets are available online and must be booked for each child attending. Adults accompanying children do not require a ticket.
