This event is perfect for teens and adults who enjoy strategy games with themes of biodiversity, conservation, and ecosystem building. Whether you're a casual player or a seasoned gamer, you'll find games that challenge and entertain.
Enjoy complimentary popcorn as you play solo or join groups to explore games like Wingspan with its Oceania expansion, Ark Nova, and many others that bring the natural world to your fingertips. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, making it a great way to meet like-minded people who share your passion for nature and gaming.
The event is family-friendly but best suited for those with some board gaming experience, offering a unique blend of fun and education that highlights environmental themes.
This drop-in event runs from 14:00 to 19:00, allowing guests to come and go at their leisure over the five-hour period. Games featured include Aqua, Undergrove, Comet, Wingspan + Oceania Expansion, Endangered, Meadow, Finspan, Ark Nova, Ecosystem, Forest Shuffle, Cascadia, Evolution: New World, and Daybreak.
Each game focuses on different aspects of nature and conservation, from building coral reefs to managing a modern zoo or creating balanced ecosystems. The event encourages thoughtful gameplay and social interaction in a casual setting.
All attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent or carer, who are responsible for their children's safety and well-being throughout the event.
The event takes place inside the EcoHub at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop, within the Piney Lakes Reserve. The venue is mostly sitting and accessible, with parking available at the front and access via ramps to multiple levels.
Public transport is recommended, with a bus stop just a two-minute walk away servicing multiple routes. Directions include taking the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway when heading westbound, or using a designated U-turn if coming from Fremantle.
