This interactive online session invites students to explore how artworks can ignite their imagination and inspire captivating stories filled with suspense and intriguing characters.
Participants will learn to craft unexpected twists and develop their own mysterious plots, making this a perfect activity for young writers eager to enhance their storytelling skills. The workshop is designed for Levels 5–6 students and promises a fun and educational experience.
Bring along three sheets of A4 paper and a pencil or pen to join in the creative process.
This live 75-minute workshop will be delivered online via Webex on Wednesday, 2026-08-26, from 09:30 to 10:45. It is free to attend but booking is required.
Learning objectives include:
- Developing ideas for mysterious characters, settings, and plots
- Experimenting with language to build tension and atmosphere
- Producing short pieces of mystery writing inspired by artworks from the NGV Collection
