Step into the vibrant season of Bunuru, the Noongar 'second summer,' with this engaging family workshop. Designed for children and their families, this session invites you to explore the long hot days and coastal gatherings through creative storytelling.
Led by Rickeeta Walley, a proud Nyoongar woman and cultural educator, the workshop encourages kids to express themselves by exploring characters and setting scenes in a playful and hands-on environment.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Noongar culture and the significance of the Bunuru season while having fun together as a family.
The workshop will focus on drama and scenography as a unique way to tell stories connected to the Bunuru season. Children will be encouraged to participate actively by creating characters and scenes that reflect this abundant time of year.
Suitable for children of all ages, the session is interactive and designed to foster creativity and cultural understanding.
Please note that children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
The event takes place at AH Bracks Library + Creative Space, located at the corner of Stock Road and Canning Highway, 431 Canning Hwy, Melville WA 6157.
