Discover, learn and connect with the natural wonders of the environment at Bush Kindy during Australian Pollinator Week! This event is designed for children aged 3-5 years and their parents or carers to immerse themselves in the beauty of Karawatha Forest Park. Your little ones will build nature confidence and respect for the environment through engaging bushwalks, exploration, story-time, and creative art 'n' craft activities.
Each session lasts about 45 minutes and offers a gentle introduction to the natural world, encouraging curiosity and hands-on learning. The activities vary weekly, ensuring a fresh and exciting experience every time. This event will proceed even in light rain, so be prepared for a bit of outdoor adventure.
Bush Kindy sessions are carefully structured to suit preschool children, with a focus on fostering a love for nature. Parents and carers are required to accompany and directly supervise their children throughout the event. The ratio is one adult per four children to ensure safety and quality interaction.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in at the Discovery Centre. The event is free but places are limited to five tickets per booking, so early registration via Eventbrite is essential. If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking to allow others the opportunity to join.
The event takes place at Karawatha Forest Park and Discovery Centre, located at 149 Acacia Road, Karawatha. This beautiful park provides a safe and natural environment perfect for young children to explore and learn about local wildlife and plants.
There are no food outlets on site, so bringing water and a snack is recommended. Dress your child in sun-safe clothing, a hat, and fully enclosed walking shoes. Insect repellent and sunscreen are also advised to keep everyone comfortable during the outdoor activities.
All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees, including infants, require a ticket. The event is popular and places are limited, so late arrivals may forfeit their tickets to waiting participants. The program will continue in light rain but may be cancelled due to severe weather or environmental conditions.
If you represent a daycare or vacation care group interested in similar activities, please contact the organisers via email for more information.
This is a free event, but bookings are required through Eventbrite due to limited capacity. A maximum of five tickets can be booked at a time, with an adult-to-child ratio of 1:4. Please ensure to cancel your booking if you cannot attend to free up space for others.
Booking early is highly recommended as spots fill quickly. The event is designed to provide a safe, educational, and fun experience for preschool children and their families.
