Join us for a rewarding community event where families can come together to plant street trees and enhance the local environment. This is a wonderful chance to contribute to a greener, cooler Cannon Hill while connecting with neighbours and enjoying the outdoors.
You will have the opportunity to plant carefully selected street trees suited to the local area. All planting holes will be prepared in advance, and tools will be provided, making it easy for everyone to participate. After planting, enjoy a complimentary sausage sizzle and take home a free native plant as a thank you.
The event is suitable for all ages, making it perfect for families with children. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes, hats, and sunscreen, and to bring reusable water bottles for comfort and safety. Planting will take place along multiple streets including Aster Street, Beauvardia Street, and more.
Meet at Regent Park, located at the corner of Wynnum Road and Rossiter Street, Cannon Hill. The event starts at 9:00 am with a welcome and briefing, followed by planting activities. Planting spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
No bookings are required, so arriving early is recommended to secure a planting spot. This free event supports local wildlife and helps create cooler streets for future generations. It’s a fantastic way to engage children in environmental stewardship.
