Discover the Circle of Security, an evidence-based program designed to strengthen the bond between you and your child. This engaging course helps parents and carers understand their child’s emotional needs and supports them in managing emotions effectively.
You will learn how to build your child’s self-esteem and honor your inner wisdom to create a safe, secure environment for your child. This program is ideal for parents, carers, and family members of children aged 0-12 years.
While not disability-specific, the program is adaptable to meet your child’s unique needs, ensuring every family can benefit from the approach.
The program runs weekly over eight weeks, with each session lasting two hours. Attendance at all sessions is required to gain the full benefit and receive a certificate of completion.
Sessions are held online via Zoom, making it easy to join from anywhere in Australia. The course starts on Thursday, 30 April 2026, and runs until Thursday, 18 June 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm AEST.
Your facilitator, Beth McDonalds, is a trained peer worker and parent with lived experience raising a child with a disability, providing personalized and empathetic support.
This program is delivered entirely online via Zoom, allowing you to participate comfortably from your home or any location across Australia.
Instructions and access details will be emailed to you closer to the event start date. If you require accessibility support, please notify the organizers when registering.
This flexible online format is perfect for busy parents seeking expert guidance without the need to travel.
To maintain a supportive group environment, the program requires a minimum of six participants to proceed. Only one booking per family is necessary if attending together on the same screen.
Participants are encouraged to keep their cameras on during sessions to qualify for a certificate of attendance, which confirms engagement and completion.
Professionals are not able to attend this program at this time, but are welcome to share the details with families they support.
The Circle of Security program is offered free of charge, funded by the NSW Department of Education Start Strong Pathways program.
Please RSVP to secure your place, as spots are limited and the group will only proceed with sufficient enrolment.
Register early to ensure your family benefits from this valuable parenting support course.
