Experience the joy and cultural richness of the Lunar New Year Festival in the City of Ryde, a free event perfect for families looking to immerse themselves in vibrant celebrations. This festival offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, and engaging activities for children in a welcoming community atmosphere.
The festival is spread across two sites: Koreatown Railway Parade from 12:00 to 17:00 and Eastwood Oval with West Parade from 16:00 to 21:00. Attendees can enjoy two stages of live performances, including a main stage at Eastwood lower oval and a K-Town stage in Koreatown's commuter carpark. Kids will delight in carnival rides, free face painting, pony rides, and more. Food vendors offer a variety of snacks, desserts, and hot meals along Railway Parade and West Parade.

The festival takes place in Eastwood, with easy access via Eastwood train station. Temporary bus stops are available on Wingate Avenue, Hillview Road, West Parade, and Ethel Street, with altered bus routes on the day. A disability drop-off zone is located on Hillview Road, accessible via West Parade. Road closures will affect Railway Parade and West Parade on the event day; please plan your trip accordingly.
Lost property and lost children can be assisted at Festival Information stalls located on Railway Parade and Eastwood Oval. Wristbands are available for children to write contact details for safety. The event is a Waste Wise Event encouraging reusable bags and water bottles; no plastic bottles or bags will be sold. Limited seating is available near stages and food areas. Smoking and vaping are prohibited onsite. The festival site is accessible for people with restricted mobility.
This is a free community event with no booking required. Attendees are encouraged to bring suitable weather clothing, sunscreen, hats, reusable water bottles, and payment cards for food vendors. No ATMs are onsite, but nearby ATMs are available along Rowe Street. Enjoy a safe, fun, and culturally rich day out celebrating Lunar New Year with your family.
