Immerse yourself in nature and make a positive impact on the environment by volunteering for the Clovelly Bay Bushcare program. This is a fantastic opportunity for families and individuals who want to contribute to preserving native coastal heath in a stunning location.
You will work alongside Council's experienced Bushcare Officers who will guide you through the bush regeneration activities. It’s a rewarding way to spend a morning outdoors, connecting with nature and the local community.
Whether you are new to bushcare or have experience, this program welcomes volunteers of all skill levels who are passionate about environmental conservation.
The bushcare sessions occur monthly, specifically on the 4th Friday of each month, providing a regular chance to get involved without a huge time commitment.
Sessions run from 09:00 to 12:00, perfect for fitting into your morning schedule before the day gets busy. Activities typically include weeding, planting native species, and maintaining the health of the coastal heath.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear suitable outdoor clothing, bring water, and use sun protection to stay comfortable during the morning.
The meeting point is at the designated car parking spaces opposite 18 Eastbourne Avenue, Clovelly, located on the northern side of Clovelly Bay.
This site features two remnant patches of native coastal heath, offering a peaceful and scenic environment for bush regeneration work.
Access is straightforward by car or public transport, and parking is available at the meeting spot.
Bookings are essential to ensure appropriate supervision and resources. Volunteers should contact the Council's Bushcare Officer to register their attendance.
The program runs until 27 November 2026, giving plenty of opportunities to participate throughout the year.
Please be aware that the activities involve physical work outdoors, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
Participation in the Clovelly Bay Bushcare program is free of charge.
