Immerse yourself in nature with the Clovelly Bay Bushcare group, a dedicated community effort to protect and restore the rare coastal heathland on the northern side of Clovelly Bay. This beautiful and tranquil location offers a unique opportunity to connect with the environment and contribute to preserving local biodiversity.
Volunteers will work alongside passionate locals to nurture this small yet expanding patch of bush, home to some of the smallest and most secretive native creatures. It's an ideal activity for parents looking to engage their children with nature and environmental stewardship.
Expect a hands-on experience where you can learn about native plants, wildlife, and the importance of coastal ecosystems in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The bushcare sessions occur every month on the 4th Friday, running from 09:00 to 12:00. The group focuses on activities such as weeding, planting, and habitat restoration to enhance the resilience and biodiversity of the area.
No prior experience is necessary, making it perfect for families and individuals new to bushcare. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable outdoor clothing and bring water, gloves, and sun protection.
These sessions provide a wonderful way to spend a morning outdoors, learning new skills and making a positive impact on the local environment.
