Experience a rewarding morning outdoors as you join fellow community members to plant native species at the beautiful Tweeddale Reserve. This event is perfect for families, seniors, and adults who want to contribute to local environmental efforts while enjoying fresh air and nature.
You will be guided through the planting process and provided with all necessary tools, making it easy and enjoyable even for beginners. After the planting, light snacks will be served to relax and socialize with other participants.
This is a wonderful opportunity to teach children about native plants and environmental stewardship in a hands-on way.
The event starts at 10:30am and runs until 12:30pm on Saturday, 4 July 2026. Please arrive by 10:15am for registration and a safety briefing to ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience.
Bring your own gardening gloves, a small hand trowel, and water to stay hydrated. Dress appropriately with long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes, and a hat or rain jacket depending on the weather.
Children under 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. The City of Holdfast Bay will supply any additional tools and equipment needed.
The planting takes place at Tweeddale Reserve in South Brighton. The meeting point is near the Brighton Lions Club Car Park, which can be found easily on Google Maps.
This location is accessible by car and public transport, with parking available nearby. The reserve offers a lovely natural setting for this community-driven environmental activity.
Bookings are essential to ensure there are enough tools and materials for all participants. The event is free of charge, making it accessible for everyone interested.
Please be mindful of weather conditions and dress accordingly. Safety glasses or optical glasses are recommended to protect your eyes during planting.
This is a family-friendly event, but children must be supervised at all times for their safety.
Participation is free, but you must book online to secure your spot. Early booking is recommended as spaces and equipment are limited.
Light snacks will be provided at the end of the activity to thank you for your efforts and to encourage community connection.
