Confined 17 offers a powerful and moving exhibition dedicated to First Nations people who have experienced incarceration in Victoria. Through their artwork, participants share their stories, culture, and lived experiences, creating a space for reflection and awareness. This exhibition highlights the urgent need for change in the criminal justice system and celebrates cultural connection and empowerment.
Visitors will experience a diverse range of artworks produced by First Nations artists involved in The Torch’s Indigenous Arts in Prisons and Community program. The exhibition serves as a key public showcase of this program, which aims to reduce re-offending rates by fostering cultural, social, emotional, and financial wellbeing through visual arts. Each artwork is available for purchase, with 100% of the price going directly to the artist.
