Through their artworks, these individuals share their stories, culture, and lived experiences, providing a unique insight into their journey and resilience. This exhibition highlights the urgent need for change regarding the disproportionate representation of First Nations Australians in the criminal justice system.
Visitors will experience a heartfelt collection of visual art created by participants in The Torch’s Indigenous Arts in Prisons and Community program. This program fosters cultural connection and aims to reduce re-offending rates by empowering participants through creative expression. Each piece reflects the cultural, social, emotional, and financial wellbeing improvements that art can bring.
