offers a powerful and moving space for First Nations people who have experienced incarceration in Victoria to share their stories, culture, and lived experiences through their artwork. This exhibition highlights the urgent need for change by reflecting on the disproportionate representation of First Nations Australians in the criminal justice system.
Visitors will experience a collection of artworks created through The Torch’s Indigenous Arts in Prisons and Community program. This program supports cultural connection and aims to reduce re-offending by empowering participants through visual arts. Each piece is a testament to resilience and hope, with 100% of artwork sales going directly to the artists.
The exhibition runs as a one-day event on Saturday, 2 May 2026, from 13:00 to 17:00. It is a unique opportunity to engage with meaningful art that fosters understanding and community support. The event is suitable for families and anyone interested in cultural and social justice themes.
Held at the Glen Eira City Council Gallery, located at the corner of Glen Eira and Hawthorn Roads in Caulfield, Victoria. The venue is accessible and situated within a community-friendly area, making it easy to visit by car or public transport.
Please note the event is a single-day exhibition. Attendees are encouraged to respect the cultural significance of the artworks and the stories they represent. Photography policies may apply, so check with gallery staff upon arrival.
Entry to the exhibition is free. Artworks are available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting the artists directly. No prior booking is required, and visitors are welcome to drop in during the event hours.
