In this engaging introductory workshop, jeweller and metalsmith Regine Schwarzer invites you to explore the art of silver ring making. Perfect for beginners and intermediate students, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to create a custom-sized sterling silver ring using wax carving techniques. Whether you're new to jewellery making or looking to expand your skills, this session promises creativity and hands-on fun.
You will learn to carve, manipulate, and texture wax to shape your own ring, guided step-by-step by Regine. The day includes experimenting with various tools and methods to add intricate details and patterns to your design. You'll also discover how to properly size and fit your ring for comfort and wearability. By the end of the workshop, you will have completed a hand-carved wax model that will be cast in sterling silver after the session.
The workshop fee includes all materials, up to 10 grams of silver, use of tools, foundry casting, and finishing costs. Optional gem inclusion is available for a small additional fee, with a selection of Australian sapphires provided or you may bring your own gem. The finished silver rings will be ready for collection approximately three weeks after the workshop, with postal delivery options arranged directly with Regine. This workshop is suitable for participants aged 16 and older, with no previous experience required.
The workshop takes place at 1 Lobethal Rd, Lobethal SA 5241, Australia, within the beautiful Adelaide Hills region. Parking is available at Fabrik, and refrigeration facilities are provided for your packed lunch. The venue is accessible and welcoming, making it a comfortable setting for a creative day.

If you need to cancel, notify by email before 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026 to be eligible for a refund. Participants will be added to the Fabrik mailing list for program updates but may opt out by contacting the Public Programs Officer.
Tickets are available online for $285, covering all materials and services except optional gems and excess silver beyond 10 grams. Additional charges for extra silver and gem setting will be payable to Regine on the day. Secure your spot early to enjoy a creative and memorable experience in jewellery making.
