What to Expect
Immerse yourself in the art of jewellery making with this engaging masterclass series designed for intermediate jewellers. Led by the talented Georgia Symmons of Tyet Designs, you'll refine your skills and create unique pieces inspired by nature and ancient symbolism.
This series offers a perfect blend of traditional metalsmithing techniques and modern design, ideal for parents looking to nurture their creative side or find a rewarding hobby.
Expect a supportive environment where you can learn hands-on techniques and produce professional-quality jewellery.
Activity Details
The masterclass is delivered over two weekends with three sessions:
- Session 1 & 2 (Saturday 23 May 2026, 10:00–17:00): Focus on stone-in-place design and wax construction techniques, including carving wax models and creating bezel settings.
- Session 2 continues with drip wax and found-object mould making, teaching you to prepare natural objects and create silicone moulds.
- Session 3 (Saturday 30 May 2026, 10:00–13:00): Polishing and finishing your cast pieces to achieve a professional, wearable finish.
Between sessions 2 and 3, your wax pieces will be professionally cast offsite.

The classes take place at Mornington Community House, located at 3/91 Wilsons Rd, Mornington, 3931.
This central location is easily accessible and provides a welcoming space for creative learning.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for busy parents to attend.
Important Information
Please note that this course is suitable for intermediate jewellers with some prior experience.
Materials and professional casting services are included as part of the course.
The instructor, Georgia Symmons, is an award-winning artisan known for her unique mixed metal jewellery and passionate mentoring style.
Participants should be prepared for hands-on work and bring enthusiasm for creative exploration.
