This event invites children and families to design and craft their own hero dolls, whether real or imaginary, using recycled and everyday materials like toilet rolls, fabric, and paper. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials if they wish, adding a personal touch to their creations. The workshop is suitable for all ages, making it a perfect family activity that sparks imagination and artistic skills.
Best of all, your finished hero doll could be featured as part of the Once Upon a Doll exhibition, giving your child’s artwork a special place in the gallery.
This workshop runs on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00. It will be held in the Education Centre of Wollongong Art Gallery. The event is free of charge, but bookings are essential to secure your spot.
Please note that all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the workshop, whether or not the adult is participating. This ensures a safe and supportive environment for all attendees.
