What to Expect

Activity Details
The workshop runs for two hours, from 08:30 to 10:30 on Saturday, 16 May 2026. The cost is $40.00 plus booking fee, with a discounted rate of $36.00 plus booking fee for Lake Mac Arts members. This session is suitable for parents interested in children’s literature and storytelling.
The presenters bring a wealth of knowledge: Kirrili Lonergan is an illustrator and art therapist with experience in children’s emotional well-being, while Katrina McKelvey is a seasoned children’s author and former primary school teacher.
Expect an interactive session with practical advice, creative inspiration, and opportunities to ask questions about writing and illustrating picture books.
Location and Access
The workshop will be held at Windale Hub, bilyabayi, located at 20 Lake Street, Windale, NSW 2306. There is all-day parking available around the venue on Lake and South Streets, with a short 5-minute walk from South Street.
Accessible parking is reserved at the rear car park accessible from Shade Lane, featuring a ramp leading into the building. The venue also has an internal ramp and accessible toilet facilities. Meeting rooms are equipped with a hearing loop to support attendees with hearing impairments.
The location is family-friendly and easy to reach, making it convenient for parents attending with children or on their own.
