Creative Writing Club for Teens (11+ years)

What to Expect

Each session offers an engaging opportunity to discuss various aspects of creative writing, including plot tightening, character realism, and genre exploration. Teens will receive valuable tips and feedback to help improve their work. The club fosters confidence through sharing and constructive critique, making it an ideal space for young writers to grow.

Activity Details

The club meets monthly on the first Saturday from 14:00 to 16:00. Sessions are scheduled on 5 July, 2 August, 6 September, 4 October, 1 November, and 6 December 2025. The program is ticketed at $30 per ticket, which covers a 6-month membership including all six workshops. Note that tickets are non-refundable, and children aged 11 must be accompanied by an adult co-learner. Spaces are limited to 15 participants, so early booking is essential.

Location and Access

All sessions take place at Chatswood Library, located at 409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, NSW 2067. The library is easily accessible and provides a welcoming environment for young learners. Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend.

Important Information

Children under 11 must be supervised by an adult at all times in the library. The event follows NSW Health guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. Attendees should review the library's Behaviour and Unaccompanied Children guidelines prior to attending. Please be aware that the event may be filmed or photographed for promotional use; notify staff if you prefer not to have images published.

Booking and Prices

Tickets are available through Eventbrite and cost $30 plus applicable fees for the full 6-month series. Booking is essential due to limited spaces. Refunds are not available for missed sessions, so please plan accordingly to make the most of this enriching creative writing experience.
