Experience an engaging evening where you don’t need to be a visual artist to enjoy cultural sketching. Bring your enthusiasm and curiosity as you listen to a member of the local arts community share their story, creative interests, and favourite music. This interactive session encourages you to sketch the presenter and their favourite objects inspired by their narrative.
This month’s session highlights the newest exhibition, Primary Succession, offering a unique opportunity to connect with local art and artists. Materials are provided, and refreshments will be served to keep the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming.
The event is designed for adults aged 18 and over and is part of the creative RISE program, which supports arts community skill-building and knowledge sharing. Each month features a different presenter who models and inspires untutored sketching in an immersive setting.
Participants will have the chance to network with creative peers, make their mark, and deepen their appreciation of the local arts scene. The cost is $8 per person, and bookings are required to secure your place.
The event takes place at the Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, located at Walker and Robinson streets in Dandenong. The venue is accessible, and attendees with specific accessibility needs or requiring an Auslan interpreter are encouraged to contact the organisers at least four days before the event.
