Step back in time to the 1600s and immerse yourself in the raw, expressive world of early baroque music. This unique concert features compositions by pioneers like Castello, Fontana, and Schmelzer, performed with passion and unpredictability. The ensemble’s dynamic performance style takes you on a journey from melancholy to exuberance in moments, promising an engaging and emotionally charged experience.
Australian dulcian specialist Jane Gower joins violinists Helena Zemanová and Julia Fredersdorff, along with harpsichord maestro Lars Ulrik Mortensen, to bring this rarely heard repertoire to life. This is baroque music before it was bound by formal rules, offering a fresh perspective on the origins of Western music.
The concert lasts approximately one hour with no interval, making it a perfect cultural outing for parents and their school-aged children who appreciate music and history. The program includes sonatas, toccatas, and ricercares, showcasing a variety of instrumental textures and moods.
