Experience the quirky and surreal world of Ebenezer Brittlebank in Dante's Wombat, a unique performance blending lyrical chaos with physical comedy. This hour-long show invites you to explore a fractured journey through the subterranean vestibule, filled with comic potential and whimsical observations.
Prepare for a blend of surreal suburban tales, quasi-literary mischief, and spontaneous experiment. The performance features bursts of physical comedy, dreamlike personal narratives, and a singsong or two, all woven into a gloriously strange collage of everyday oddities like arthritis, art, ballet, biscuits, and subterranean aromatics.
The show runs for approximately one hour with no interval. Seating is general admission in the Primrose Potter Salon. Tickets are priced at $40 standard and $25 concession, with group discounts available. Accessibility is well catered for, including wheelchair access and assistance animals.
Held at the Melbourne Recital Centre, located at 31 Sturt Street, Southbank, Victoria 3006. The venue is accessible by public transport and offers parking options. Directions and transport details are available on the venue's website.
Please note that ticket purchases online or by phone incur a transaction fee between $4 and $8.50, and delivery fees may apply. There is a ticket limit of six per online order to ensure fair access. For larger groups, contact the Box Office directly. The venue acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and respects the Kulin nation.
Tickets can be purchased online or via phone. Standard tickets cost $40, concessions $25, and groups of four or more pay $35 each. Booking early is recommended due to limited seating and popularity during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
