The Darebin Young Citizen's Jury offers young people a unique opportunity to engage directly with local government, sharing their views and influencing decisions that affect their community. Participants aged 15 to 24 come together monthly to discuss important issues and work on projects that make a real difference.
This is a chance for young voices to be heard and to contribute to shaping policies and initiatives that impact youth in Darebin. Members receive training in leadership and advocacy, helping them build valuable skills while making a positive impact.
The Jury is a supportive space where diverse perspectives are welcomed and expert insights are occasionally brought in to enrich discussions.
The committee meets monthly to debate and develop projects addressing youth-related issues in Darebin. Meetings are closed to the public to ensure a safe and focused environment.
Membership includes up to 20 young people passionate about community change, alongside appointed Councillors and Council Officers who support the process.
