The workshop covers why worm farms are fun and how to care for compost habitats. Children will meet the famous compost worms that transform leftover food scraps into rich soil. They'll also become macro invertebrate detectives, discovering beneficial garden bugs and compost critters. Creative activities include making a clay habitat and garden creature to take home, plus designing a Compost Recipe sign for the kitchen.
The event takes place at 1 Kimbriki Road, Ingleside NSW 2101, within the Eco House and Garden. The garden provides a serene outdoor environment ideal for families. Please wear closed-in shoes, a hat, and sunscreen for comfort and safety. Parents are required to stay on-site for the duration of the workshop.
Participants are encouraged to bring vegetable and fruit scraps such as banana skins and apple cores to feed the Eco Garden worms, enhancing the hands-on experience.
