This interactive session is designed specifically for early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals. It focuses on embedding road safety education into the curriculum, helping educators support children and families in developing essential safety skills.
You will explore how to teach children to be safe passengers, pedestrians, and users of bicycles and wheeled toys. The session is evidence-based and tailored to children's developmental stages and independence levels.
Expect practical guidance on intentional teaching decisions that integrate road safety into everyday learning, aligned with the National Quality Standard (NQS).
The session is led by Louise Dorrat, an expert with over a decade of experience in the Starting Out Safely program. It will cover key NQS areas, specifically QA2, QA6, and QA7, ensuring educators understand how to meet quality standards through road safety education.
You will learn about the importance of thoughtful planning and the use of appropriate resources to support children's learning and development in road safety.
This workshop is ideal for ECEC professionals looking to enhance their curriculum with purposeful and deliberate road safety teaching strategies.
