Escorted Train Travel for Seniors
A special two-part program for seniors to learn train travel basics and enjoy a guided escorted train trip.
What to Expect
This engaging program is designed specifically for seniors who want to learn the essentials of train travel and then experience a safe, escorted train journey. It’s perfect for those looking to gain confidence in public transport just before the Victorian Seniors Festival.
The program is split into two sessions: a theory lesson followed by a practical train trip escorted by Frankston Police, Metro Trains, and Frankston City Council Positive Ageing team.
Participants must attend both sessions to fully benefit from the experience and enjoy the free senior travel week in October.
Activity Details
The first session covers the basics of train travel, including safety tips, ticketing information, and navigating stations. This session runs from 14:30 to 15:30 on Tuesday, 2 September 2025.
The second session is a guided train trip to the city, providing hands-on experience with support from escorts. This trip takes place on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, from 10:00 to 14:00.
Both sessions are free of charge and designed to be accessible and enjoyable for seniors.

The sessions are held at Karingal Place Neighborhood Centre, located at 103 Ashleigh Avenue, Frankston, 3199.
The venue is easily accessible by public transport and offers a comfortable setting for the theory session.
