What to Expect
Experience the joy of cycling through the beautiful high country surrounding Crows Nest, Queensland. This event offers a mix of gravel and bitumen roads with minimal traffic, perfect for riders seeking adventure away from the busy city. Whether you prefer a long challenging ride or a shorter scenic route, there is an option for everyone.
The rides are designed to showcase the natural beauty and local charm of the area, including opportunities to visit local cafes and recharge your e-bike. It's a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and explore a welcoming community.
Bring your own water, snacks, and bike lights for the evening ride. Support vehicles will be available to assist with water and battery charging on some routes.
Activity Details
The event spans three days with multiple ride options:
- Friday 17 April 2026: Sunset Cruise, 30km starting at 16:00 from Centenary Park. Riders must bring their own lights for the return.
- Saturday 18 April 2026: Long Ride (70-80km) or Short Ride (30-40km), starting 09:00 and 09:15 respectively.
- Sunday 19 April 2026: Long Ride (50km) or Short Ride (30-40km), starting 08:00 and 08:15 respectively.
Tickets include a $10 voucher redeemable at selected local services. Riders are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements.
Location and Access
All rides start from Centenary Park, 37 Toowoomba Rd, Crows Nest QLD 4355. The park is easily accessible and serves as a central meeting point for all ride departures. Crows Nest offers various accommodation options including hotels, motels, caravan parks, and camping grounds.
Local amenities such as cafes, bakeries, and distilleries add to the charm of the area, making it a great destination for families and cycling enthusiasts alike. The region is known for its quiet roads and scenic landscapes.
Important Information
Participants must have ride insurance or sign an indemnity waiver at the start. Bring your own water, snacks, and bike lights for the sunset ride. Support vehicles will carry extra water and can transport battery chargers (label yours clearly).
The event may be cancelled if there are insufficient riders. There are plenty of local attractions including the Crows Nest Museum, art gallery, and local eateries to enjoy before or after your rides.
Booking and Prices
Tickets are available as:
- Day Pass: $40 per person
- Weekend Pass: $70 per person
