What to Expect
This engaging online program invites primary school students to explore the essential elements of visual art, focusing on form and tone. Through live sessions with an NGV educator, children will learn how artists use these elements to create the illusion of three-dimensional space and volume. The program encourages creativity and curiosity, making art accessible and fun from the comfort of home.
Participants will also discover sculptural works that occupy real space, gaining insight into how form influences viewer interaction. The sessions are designed to be interactive, with opportunities to draw and participate in creative activities using simple materials like paper and coloured pencils.

The program is offered online via WebEx each term and is free to join with prior booking. It supports the Victorian and Australian Visual Arts Curricula, specifically the Exploring and Developing Practices strands. Sessions run from 9:30 to 10:15 AM, providing a concise yet rich learning experience suitable for young learners. Recordings are available after the live session for the remainder of the term, allowing flexible participation.
