This workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain essential life-saving skills in CPR and defibrillation while also learning how to recognise and respond to family violence. It is designed to empower you with the confidence to act in critical situations and provide compassionate support.
You will engage in a safe and entertaining environment where practical CPR and defibrillation techniques are demonstrated. The session also covers understanding coercive control, abuse, and violence to help you identify and assist those affected.
Presented by Community First Responders Australia and Women's Health in the South East, this event is supported by the Rotary Club of Balwyn and the City of Boroondara.
During the workshop, you will learn how to 'Recognise, Respond and Refer' in both medical emergencies and family violence situations. The training focuses on what to do in the vital first few minutes of a cardiac arrest, including hands-on CPR and defibrillation practice.
You will gain skills to respond with compassion and care, understanding the complexities of family violence and how to show support effectively. This knowledge is invaluable for parents wanting to protect and assist their families and communities.
