What to Expect
Immerse yourself in the world of fashion illustration guided by renowned Melbourne-based artist Angie Réhe. This one-day course offers a unique opportunity to explore dynamic poses and creative techniques to express garment details inspired by the NGV Collection.
Participants will draw inspiration from the Radical Aesthetics: Japanese Fashion from the NGV Collection exhibition, learning how to illustrate couture garments with flair and originality. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop welcomes all skill levels.
Expect a hands-on, engaging session where you will create your own series of fashion illustrations using colour, gesture, and impression.
Activity Details
The course begins with an insightful talk by Charlotte Botica, Assistant Curator of Fashion and Textiles at NGV, introducing key works from the Radical Aesthetics exhibition. Following this, you will move to the NGV’s Learn Studios for practical illustration activities.
All materials are provided, so you can focus entirely on unleashing your creativity. The session runs from 12:00 to 17:00 on Monday, 27 July 2026.
This course is suitable for all ages and skill levels, making it a perfect creative outlet for parents and their school-aged children interested in fashion and art.

The workshop takes place at NGV International, located at the Information Desk on the Ground Level. The venue is fully accessible, with a range of facilities to ensure everyone can participate comfortably.
