What to Expect
Experience a gentle and engaging Auslan Storytime designed especially for young children and their parents or caregivers. Through picture books, songs, and actions, children will enjoy stories read aloud in both spoken English and Australian Sign Language (Auslan). This session encourages little ones to watch, listen, sign, move, and actively participate, supporting early language development in a playful way.
This event supports the First 5 Forever building blocks of talking, reading, singing, and playing, helping children develop communication skills, confidence, and empathy from an early age. No prior Auslan experience is needed, making it accessible and welcoming for all families.
Caregivers will also learn simple Auslan signs and activities to try at home, extending the benefits of the session beyond the library.
