What to Expect
Get ready to make a real difference in your local environment by joining the FOLKLAW Friends Group working bees. These sessions are perfect for families who want to engage in meaningful outdoor activities that support local wildlife and biodiversity. No prior experience is needed, so it’s a great opportunity for parents and children to learn together.
Volunteers will participate in a variety of hands-on tasks such as planting, weeding, and habitat restoration to help maintain the health of the Somers Koala Reserve. Friendly support staff will be on hand to provide guidance, training, and all necessary tools and equipment.
Enjoy fresh air and community spirit while contributing to the protection of our precious local koalas and bushland.
Activity Details
The working bees run from 09:30 to 11:30 on selected Sundays, providing a manageable morning commitment that fits well with family schedules. Participants should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves, and a hat to protect against the elements and rough terrain.
Remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during the activities. The sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled due to extreme weather, Total Fire Ban days, or public holidays, so please check ahead.
This is a free event, making it an accessible way for families to get involved in environmental conservation.
