This free session is designed for parents, expectant parents, grandparents, and carers who want to learn how to keep young children safe from common injuries. Unintentional injury is a leading cause of harm among children, and this session provides vital knowledge to help prevent accidents.
You will gain practical advice on a wide range of child safety topics, ensuring you feel confident in protecting your little ones at home and outdoors. The session is welcoming and informative, perfect for anyone caring for children aged 0-14 years.
Each attendee will receive a child safety pack including a free gift, making this session both educational and rewarding.
The session covers important topics such as falls prevention, burns prevention and first aid, water safety, dangers of button batteries, poisoning, product safety, driveway safety, and risks related to hot cars.
This comprehensive approach ensures you leave with a well-rounded understanding of child safety hazards and prevention strategies.
Bookings are essential to secure your place, and the session is free of charge. One free gift per adult attendee (over 18 years) will be provided, with conditions applied.
The session will be held at 45 Albert St, Gumeracha SA 5233, Australia, within the Gumeracha Library area of the Community Hub. Access to the kids' area is available during the session.
Parking is convenient with multiple options including electric charging parks, disabled parking spaces, and ample parking near the Gumeracha sporting oval for larger vehicles.
The community centre is fully accessible with disabled toilets, ramps, and wide entrances, ensuring comfort for all attendees.
The Torrens Valley Community Centre operates Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is closed on Fridays and public holidays.
In case of Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Ratings for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the centre will close and the session may be cancelled or rescheduled with reimbursement options.
Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather, bring a torch or phone light if attending at night, and note that the centre is inclusive and welcoming to all, including LGBTQI+ families and breastfeeding mothers.
This is a free event, but bookings are essential to attend. Each adult attendee will receive one free child safety pack gift.
