What to Expect

Step into the world of innovation with the Future Makers Club, a creative space where your child can explore coding, digital art, and 3D modelling. This program is designed to ignite imagination and develop digital skills in a fun, supportive environment. Over eight weeks, participants will build, design, and code their way to creating exciting projects.

Each session is carefully crafted to introduce new skills and tools, from Scratch animations and games to TinkerCAD 3D projects and Procreate comic making. Kids will have the chance to learn from experienced instructors and guest artists, making it a perfect after-school activity for curious minds.

This club encourages collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving, helping children gain confidence in technology and digital creation. It’s a fantastic opportunity to prepare your child for the future while having a great time.

Activity Details

The program runs every Monday from 15:30 to 16:30, starting on February 9, 2026, and continuing weekly until March 30, 2026, with a break on March 9 for a public holiday. The sessions include:

- Feb 9 & 16: Scratch programming for animations and simple games

- Feb 23 & Mar 2: TinkerCAD 3D modelling projects

- Mar 2 & 16: Procreate comic and character design with guest artist Alex Rodeghiero-Smith (@comicgoblin)

- Mar 23 & 30: Hour of Code coding games

Location and Access

The Future Makers Club is held at Ngutungka West Lakes, located at 9 Charles Street, West Lakes, SA. This accessible venue is well-equipped with digital tools and a welcoming atmosphere for young makers. It’s easy to reach by car or public transport, with parking available nearby.

Important Information

Please note that the club is free to attend, but places may be limited, so early booking is recommended. The program is designed specifically for children aged 9 to 14 years. Children should bring their enthusiasm and curiosity; all necessary digital tools and materials will be provided.

There is a public holiday on March 9, 2026, so the club will not meet that day. Participants are encouraged to attend all other sessions to get the full experience. The City of Charles Sturt acknowledges the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the land where this event takes place.
