Dive into the exciting world of coding with the Futures Lab Coding crew. This engaging workshop invites children aged 7 to 12 to design their own fast-paced Easter egg hunting game using Scratch, a beginner-friendly programming language. Parents are encouraged to join the fun and see firsthand how coding can be both educational and entertaining.
Participants will create game art, adjust difficulty levels, and learn key programming concepts such as variables, computer logic, and flow. The session is hands-on, with laptops provided, making it easy for beginners to get started.
This is a perfect opportunity for families to bond over technology and creativity during the school holidays.
The workshop runs for two hours, from 15:00 to 17:00 on Friday, April 10, 2026. It is free of charge but requires booking due to limited spaces. Each attendee must book a ticket, including parents who wish to participate.
Laptops will be supplied, but participants should bring a USB drive to save their projects. Photography and videography may be conducted for promotional purposes by the City of Swan and event organizers.
This program is designed for children aged 7 to 12 and is suitable for beginners with no prior coding experience.
