Geri-Fit offers a welcoming and supportive environment for seniors to improve their physical fitness through gentle, evidence-based exercises. Designed specifically for those aged 60 and over, the program focuses on enhancing flexibility, balance, and strength using seated or standing movements with light weights.
This low-pressure class encourages social interaction and community connection, making it an ideal activity for seniors looking to stay active and engaged. Each session is tailored to accommodate different fitness levels, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.
Whether you’re new to exercise or looking to maintain your mobility, Geri-Fit provides a safe and enjoyable way to keep moving as you age.
Classes run weekly on multiple days at different library venues, excluding public holidays. Sessions last approximately 1 to 1.25 hours, with times varying by location:
- Old Midland Courthouse: Fridays, 12:45 - 14:00
- Ballajura Public Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 13:00 - 14:00
- Ellenbrook Community Library: Mondays, 13:00 - 14:00
- Beechboro Public Library: Wednesdays, 13:00 - 14:00
Participants are encouraged to book their spot in advance due to limited spaces. Each attendee must reserve their own ticket.
The exercises incorporate 1kg weights and focus on improving balance and flexibility gradually over time.
Classes take place at four accessible library venues within the City of Swan:
- Old Midland Courthouse, 49 Helena St, Midland WA 6056
- Ballajura Public Library, Kingfisher Ave & Illawarra Crescent North, Ballajura WA 6066
- Ellenbrook Community Library, 90 Main St, Ellenbrook WA 6069
- Beechboro Public Library, 332 Benara Road, Beechboro WA 6063
Each location is well-served by public transport and offers parking options. Libraries provide a comfortable and safe environment suitable for seniors.
This program is specifically designed for seniors aged 60 and above. It is an exercise class focusing on gentle physical activity and is not a medical treatment.
Participants should consult their healthcare provider before starting if they have any health concerns.

Booking is essential to secure your place, and one ticket per person is required.
The Geri-Fit classes are offered free of charge, making it an accessible option for seniors looking to stay active.
