What to Expect
Step into a supportive and energizing environment where you can get stronger, boost your mood, and have fun. Led by pro coach Stephanie Mfongwot, these sessions include shadow boxing, bag work, and core workouts that will get your heart pumping and your body moving.
Expect a mix of exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and burpees, all tailored to be inclusive and welcoming for all fitness levels—even if you’ve never boxed before. The vibe is friendly and encouraging, perfect for building confidence and community.
This is a safe space for all women, including trans and femme-identifying individuals aged 12 to 24, to come together, learn new skills, and enjoy a great workout.
Activity Details
Classes run weekly on Tuesdays during the school term from 17:30 to 18:30. Each session is designed to be engaging and effective, combining boxing techniques with fitness exercises to improve strength and endurance.
The program is free of charge, making it accessible for young women looking to try something new without any financial pressure.
You don’t need any prior boxing experience—just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to move and have fun.
Location and Access
The sessions take place at Oxygen Youth Space, located at 4 - 8 Gaffney Street, Coburg North. This venue is easy to reach by public transport.
You can catch the #37 tram to the Gaffney Street/Sydney Road stop, which is just a one-minute walk from the venue. Alternatively, Batman train station on the Upfield line is a five-minute walk away.
The space is youth-friendly and designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

This program is specifically for girls and women aged 12 to 24, including trans and femme-identifying individuals.
All fitness levels are welcome, so whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll find the sessions suitable and enjoyable.
Please wear comfortable workout clothes and bring water to stay hydrated during the session.

The classes are free to attend, with no booking required—just turn up ready to box and have fun.
