What to Expect
Step into a supportive and energetic environment where you can build strength, boost your mood, and have a great time. These boxing classes are tailored for all fitness levels, whether you're a beginner or have some experience. Expect to punch, skip, sweat, and laugh your way through each session.
You'll engage in a variety of exercises including shadow boxing, bag work, core workouts, and bodyweight exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and burpees. The vibe is welcoming and fun, making fitness feel less like a chore and more like a community event.
This is a safe space exclusively for women, including trans and femme-identifying individuals aged 12 to 24, where everyone can feel comfortable and empowered.
Activity Details
Classes are held weekly on Tuesdays during the school term, running from 17:30 to 18:30. The sessions are led by professional coach Stephanie Mfongwot, who brings expertise and enthusiasm to every class.
The program focuses on a full-body workout that improves fitness, coordination, and confidence. No prior boxing experience is necessary, and all fitness levels are encouraged to join.
The classes are free of charge, making it an accessible opportunity to try something new and energizing.
Location and Access
The sessions take place at Oxygen Youth Space, located at 4 - 8 Gaffney Street, Coburg North. This venue is easy to reach by public transport.
Tram users can hop off at the #37 tram stop at Gaffney Street/Sydney Road, just a one-minute walk from the venue. If you prefer the train, Batman station on the Upfield line is a five-minute walk away.
The location is youth-friendly and designed to provide a comfortable and safe environment for all participants.
